A Few Things About Me

Who the heck is this guy?

So many of my clients even after working with me for 3+ years still don’t know a lot about me and my history.  they know the big parts, but there is a lot that most of my clients, followers and community don;t know about me, so I thought I would share with you all a number of quick little facts about me.

Maybe some of these facts you will be able to relate to.

1. I was born in Durban, South Africa
2. My father passed away when I was 11 – probably the most painful experience of my life
3. I lived in 8 different houses from when I was born until 22
4. I am the youngest of 8 children
5. I spent 1 year in the military in South Africa as part of our military service – I hated it
6. I was 14 when I first flew on an airplane – solo from Durban to East London, South Africa to visit my brother
7. Soccer was my first love.  growing up I played soccer, rugby, cricket, tennis, water polo and track and field
8. Surfing was my next love and it sucked me in like nothing ever has.  I was hooked from a young age
9. I spent 6 years in London from 1995 – 2001
10. I worked in Investment banking for 14 years
11. I started my first online business in 2008 selling jigsaw puzzles, toy trains, and toys – I loved it
12. I launched Gaia Media Group In 2010
13. I was sick with Lyme Disease for 5 years starting in 2008
14. I healed myself over time and started a second personal coaching business in 2013
15. I studied under Bob Proctor for 5 years
16. I lived in Connecticut for 15 years
17. We moved to California in 2016
18. I once did a photo every day and published a blog post of the photo for 366 days (2012 leap year)
19. I surfed for 560+ days in a row from 2020 to 2022
20. I have completed 4 Triathlons
21. I actually love Toy Trains and jigsaw puzzles
