Social Media is not going away. In fact it is only going to get bigger and bigger. You can no longer simply ignore it or simply state that it doesn’t work for you. In this brief article I wish to address 3 main concerns from business owners:
1. I Don’t Understand It. I can hardly send an email, never mind run social media – Like I said above it isn’t going away and it is only growing. You are going to have to get an understanding of Social Media at some stage. It doesn’t mean you need to know all the ins and outs but an overall understanding of how it works and how it can assist your marketing efforts is key. Understanding is the key word here!
2. I Don’t Have Time – This is understandable as many business owners are extremely busy and Social Media takes time to manage. We (You and Me) cannot ignore Social Media because we don’t have the time. Hire someone who can run your Social Media for you so you can do what you do best, which is be in front of your clients.
3. Social Media Doesn’t Work. I didn’t get any results – Just because you didn’t get results doesn’t mean it doesn’t work. Are you are sure you were focusing on the right Social Media channel? They all speak to different demographics and so the audience can be vastly different. Hire someone who understands your business thoroughly, understands the audience of each social media platform and how each will fit your offerings and then tailor make a social media strategy for you, to maximize the effectiveness.
